What You’ll Get During Your Behavioral Consultation
90 minute session
If you have serious dog behavioral issues, we will dive right into them during your first consultation/evaluation with us.
Unlike many consultations/evaluations, we will actually give you solid answers, techniques, and solutions right from the start; you will leave armed with strategies that you can implement immediately to start solving your dog's behavioral issues.
Each behavioral consultation client will gain access to our online training videos, PDF training materials, and more that give step-by-step instructions on how to help change your dog's behavior.
Most clients find that it takes a week or two to get through this initial set of materials and implement them into how they live with their dogs. All who follow through find substantial changes start happening from day one.
*If you decide to purchase a multi-lesson training program at the time of your initial consult/evaluation, the cost will be deducted from the program price; this is not applicable to group classes.
What to Do Before the Consult
Start making a list of the things you want to do WITH your dog. What behaviors does he do well? What would you like him to do better?
What Happens at the Consult
We will get you and your dog safely into the training center, get you both settled, go over your needs and concerns, and then get to work!
What Happens Next
We will send you home with access to our detailed homework, the proper training equipment, and a plan to get you and your dog on track!

About John Sparks
My name is John Sparks, owner, founder and certified lead trainer at Sparks K9, in Monroe, WA.
I achieved and maintain Professional Certification Status through theInternational Association of Canine Professionalsand the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors. I am also co-founder of Balanced Bullies Rescue and Rehabilitation (a 501c3 non-profit organization).
My passion for dogs started from an early age; over the years I have been on a quest to learn and share as much as I can about the training, care and behavior of dogs.
Whether you are looking for helpwith starting your puppy out on the right track, working with a "new" shelter or rescue dog, basic, intermediate or advanced obedience, protection sports, tracking/scent work, or aggression/reactivity issues, you've come to the right place!
I am one of only a handful of trainers that will work with severely aggressive dogs; I've never turned down a request for help, nor have I met many dogs that were "too aggressive" to rehabilitate. I've honed my techniques and skills through years of traveling around the country to learn from the best of the best in the industry, in addition to extensive hands-on experience and continuing education.
Spending time learning in person from great dog trainerslike Michael Ellis, Tony Ancheta(and others) has increased my knowledge and abilities on many levels.I am passionate about my work, and want to help you and your dog develop a safe, mutually beneficial relationship that will last.
If you need dog training, dog aggression solutions, puppy training or just help with dog obedience or dog tricks, you've come to the right place!

When we first got Reese, he would chase ANYTHING that moved fast. I couldn't take him in public at all. A few private lessons, and some great social walks later, and he's the dog we had always hoped he would be. I truly couldn't thank John enough for what he has helped us bring out in our dog.

Sparks K9 is the absolute best! We contacted John and Kim when dealing with a really tough situation with our dog that was reactive. We had worked with another trainer to address leash reactivity and pulling and saw some improvements but never really fully addressed. Working with Sparks K9 was literally life changing. The approach is different and if you do the homework and commit to the process you will see results. We can now walk on a loose leash and stay in a heal regardless of distractions in our environment. My dog stays in his heal, does not pull or bark even when we see rabbits and squirrels. Our entire family's relationship with our dog has changed for the better and we now have a well trained and responsible dog. Thank you Sparks K9!
